Students meet their supporters at TJC Foundation Scholarship Luncheon

Jan 06, 2014 by

The annual TJC Foundation Scholarship Luncheon brings scholarship supporters and recipients together to meet each other and see firsthand how scholarship gifts make a difference in the lives of TJC students.

During the 2013 luncheon, the late Jack and Dorothy Faye White were remembered for playing an important role in shaping the culture of philanthropy at TJC. The Jack and Dorothy Faye White Administrative Services Center was dedicated in their honor in 1993. The Whites also established 24 endowed scholarships through the Presidential, Dean’s, Legacy, and Fine Arts scholarship programs since 1984 resulting in more than 600 students benefiting from a White Scholarship in the past 30 years.

TJC also benefitted from a substantial gift from the White estate that allowed for the new Presidential Honors Scholarship Program to be launched this year, and 105 students received the new scholarship that covers the full cost of tuition and fees. For more information on the Presidential Honors Scholarship Program, please see the article on Page 4.
