The long-anticipated Phase II of the Wagstaff Gym renovation is under way and should be complete by Nov. 1.

The gym is being expanded to provide new and additional locker rooms to better accommodate men’s and women’s athletics.

“When the work is finished, Wagstaff Gym will be among the finest facilities anywhere in our region,” said Bill King, executive director of facilities and construction.

When it is reopened to serve as home to men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball, Wagstaff will feature a new concessions area, an athletic advisor office, a computer study lab, an athletes’ lounge, a conference room, a special events room, renovated coaches’ offices and a renovated Wagstaff Museum.

The Wagstaff playing surface and gymnasium seating were renovated in 2007.
